Accrington Stanley have today completed the signing of winger Tyler Walton from Southport on a two-year contract.
Born in Leeds; Walton is a product of York City's youth system and made his senior Minstermen debut as a 17-year-old on Sat. 10th September 2016 - before spells in non-league at Frickley Athletic and Farsley Celtic.
A move to The Port followed, where he was named as the club's Media Player of the Year for 22/23 and '24.
Walton's contract will keep him at the Wham Stadium until the summer of 2026.
John Doolan said: "We looked at Tyler and his clips are really, really good. We got good feedback off the club he's been at, he's a good character, and that's a good bit of business for us to get over the line.
"He can play either side, he can play as a ten, or as a number nine. We've got the option of doing that, so we're quite happy with that ourselves.
"We're looking forward to seeing which way he's going to go or which position he'll take up, but that's entirely down to Tyler himself and the lads that are vying for them positions."
Tyler added: "I'm delighted to be here. When I first heard about it, it was a no-brainer, get in the EFL and showcase what I can do.
"John Doolan and Ged Brannan have spoke highly of the club, brought me in, and they've just said what they want to do next season.
"Hopefully I can get as many games as I can under my belt, get some goals, get some assists, and we do well in the league."
