Accrington Stanley goalkeeper James Rogerson discusses the 1-0 Under-18s win over Oldham Athletic.

"We did make a few little errors, but I felt overall, we stayed compact and dug in deep for each other.

"In the second half, we got the goal from good work by Rio Alston to earn the penalty and then a good finish from Anjola Popoola.

"After that everyone just worked for each other, covering each other's backs and in the end, we were lucky to hold out and keep them quiet.

"We had a good comeback win last week. I felt the lads used that momentum well and to their advantage.

"Being a first-year and being one of them leaders, one of the older players, it gives yourself a bit of confidence.

"You need to show that on the pitch, and really command the standards of where we want to be and how we want to play.

"It was a really good performance from the lads.

"My first year has been a fantastic season for me, both technically, and for my confidence.

"Playing with the first team was very good, and a good experience to get to know the lads at that point.

"Throughout the season, I've shared the command in net with Oli Riva. I have to take my opportunities when they come around and I tried to prove that again today.

"It's a great occasion to play at the Wham Stadium. I felt it was a good opportunity for everyone and hopefully we can get more opportunies in the future."
