Accrington Stanley goalkeeper Liam Isherwood has today signed a new one-year contract with the club.
Isherwood, who has been a Red since the age of 11, was offered a professional contract at the Wham Stadium in September 2020 and has since made five first team appearances for John Coleman's side.
The 21-year-old played 12 times and kept five clean sheets as the Under-23s won last season's Central League, with the Blackburn-born goalkeeper also having a one-month loan spell at Marine.
Isherwood's new contract will keep him at the Wham Stadium until the summer of 2024.
John Coleman said: "It's good to have a local lad signing. Liam has a great attitude, he is first in and last out, and he will only get better."
Liam added: "The club has done so much for me over the years, they've developed me as a player and I'm very excited to keep going with them.
"There have been some very good goalkeepers here and Dibs (Andy Dibble) is a class 'keeper coach, he's really helped me develop.
"It's just about getting as much first team experience under my belt as possible and seeing where it takes me."
