Janoi returns!

18 January 2019

Accrington Stanley have re-signed defender Janoi Donacien on loan from Ipswich Town.

Donacien, 25, rejoins the Reds until the end of the season, subject to FA and EFL clearance, and is available to play against Charlton Athletic tomorrow.

The Saint Lucia-born defender joined the Tractor Boys on a season long loan from Stanley in the summer, and put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the Suffolk side when a work permit was granted earlier this month.

The versatile defender spent two seasons in Lancashire after coming through the ranks at Tottenham and Aston Villa before a number of loan moves.

He made 80 league appearances for the Reds and only missed one league game last season as John Coleman's side charged to the League Two title.

Janoi has made 11 appearances for Ipswich since his move to the Championship club.

He has been given the No. 4 shirt.

Stanley boss John Coleman said: "It's a boost to have Janoi back. I am sure he has missed not playing regularly and being around the lads here.

"I think Janoi can play higher than League One but it has been hard at Ipswich as they had a lot of players making the step up at once. It's great to have him back as we know what he can do."
