John Coleman says his Stanley players are raring to go for the trip to Glanford Park ahead of the Scunthorpe United clash tomorrow.
The Reds are 15th in the Sky Bet League One table, one point and one place behind the Iron, after a disappointing run of form that's seen Stanley fail to score in their last five league outings.
By contrast, Stuart McCall's side have won five of their last seven in the league, and have climbed above Coleman's side, although Stanley have three games in hand on tomorrow's hosts.
"I know our lads have got the bit between their teeth," said Coleman. "They can't wait to play and I'm really looking forward to it.
"The Southport game in midweek did us the world of good, allowed us to explore a few options and score a couple of goals which helps.
"To go five league games without scoring is something that hasn't happened to the club in the past. Myself and Jimmy (Bell) being ex-strikers, and John Doolan being a former attacking midfielder, pride ourselves in playing on the front foot and trying to score goals, but now and again you get these blips.
"You can't explain it, you can't write about it, you can't think about it - it just happens. Hopefully when we get the one it will snowball."
Coleman admitted that the Lincolnshire side are a source of personal frustration, and says that Stanley can expect a tough test after the Iron turned around a run of games that saw them pick up just four points from a possible 39 before the turn of the year.
"Every time I think of Scunthorpe I think of my non-league days playing for Southport in the FA Cup," said Coleman. "We lost 2-0 and we had multiple chances to win, so every time I think of Scunthorpe I'm frustrated with that game!
"They've been doing well recently, I know they lost at the weekend but they've been on a good run of form.
"I've watched quite a bit of them, and they're a hard working team. They've got good players, very physically strong, and they make lots of chances.
"They could have been 3-0 up against Sunderland in the first 20 minutes, so it's going to be a tough game."
Sam Finley remains suspended though Dan Barlaser returns and is available for selection. Defender Ross Sykes is a doubt after being forced off against Gillingham through injury.
