SIGNING: Radek joins on loan

Goalkeeper Radek Vitek joins the Reds from Manchester United on loan until the end of the season

Accrington Stanley have today completed the signing of goalkeeper Radek Vitek from Manchester United on loan until the end of the season.

Born in Vsetin; Vitek left Sigma Olomouc for Old Trafford three-and-a-half-years ago and played in all six rounds as The Red Devils won the 2022 FA Youth Cup, alongside Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho.

A maiden EFL Trophy start followed three months later, with the 20-year-old Czechia youth international then named on Erik ten Hag's first team substitutes' bench seven times across 2022/23 and 2023/24.

John Coleman said: "Radek is someone who we monitored in the summer, he actually played for us in a friendly, but it just wasn't possible to bring him in in the summer.

"He's a good goalkeeper, he's decent with his feet, he can command his area, and ultimately, goalkeepers are judged on keeping the ball out of the net, so hopefully he'll do that for us."

Radek added: "I want to start as soon as possible and I think the move to Accrington will suit me, and I hope to get as many games as possible.

"That's the main thing, I want to start playing regularly and get some important matches under my belt."

A full interview video with Radek will be uploaded to the club's official YouTube channel later today, CLICK HERE to find out more!

The move is subject to Premier League, EFL, and FA ratification.
