Accrington Stanley Professional Development Phase Coach Lee Camp discusses the 1-0 Under-18s win over Oldham Athletic.

"I was really pleased, especially with the way we finished the game. It was tough towards the end, they were going quite direct and we had to defend our box well.

"I thought we started okay and then faded a little bit in the first half, we just couldn't quite get that second or third pass together to get a foothold in it.

"Once we did, we looked okay, and then in the second half, I thought we were a lot better. We started with a lot more intent and that sort of set the tone for us.

"Being really critical, I'd have liked us to manage the game a little bit better. Fair play to Oldham, they put us under some pressure at the end and I'd just like us to control possession a bit more and kill the game.

"The boys showed a real appetite and hunger to defend, and they can be very proud of their efforts.

"We had a lot of schoolboys in the team tonight, they'll play a lot of football between now and the end of the season for us.

"It's the nature of the Youth Alliance League because you can play a couple of overage players and the third-years, obviously physically, are a lot more developed, even more than our first-years.

"I'm really proud of them, they stood up to the task and the one thing you always ask is for people to compete and work hard, and they certainly did that.

"I thought James Rogerson was excellent, I thought he was really good.

"He made a couple of saves in the first half, but then late on, I thought he dealt with the balls into the box really well, a couple of really good punches under pressure.

"It is always nice when your goalkeeper comes and takes command of the situation, it just gives you that little bit of confidence and also nullifies any threat they have.

"In terms of the backline, I thought they were excellent. A really young back four, considering we also have the challenges of them being at school of getting them together and getting them to gel.

"We've had a couple of days with it being the holidays, where they've come in and we've been able to do a little bit of work.

"It's really pleasing and they deserve a clean sheet because they defended really well, individually and collectively."
