Accrington Stanley have today completed the permanent signing of midfielder Seb Quirk from Everton on a two-and-a-half-year contract.
Born in Liverpool, Quirk joined his boyhood club as an 11-year-old and signed his first professional deal in July 2020; playing eight times in Premier League 2 for Everton Under-23s during the 2020/21 campaign.
A further 27 appearances followed in 2021/22 and 2022/23, including five in the Papa Johns Trophy.
He also has two assists to his name in this season's competition, with the 21-year-old midfielder providing the through ball for Tom Cannon's 94th-minute winner against Mansfield Town at Goodison Park.
John Coleman said: "He's our type of player, I've seen him play a few times.
"He's keen, he's desperate to make his mark in professional football and I know he's had a long spell at Everton but it's totally different once you're playing league football where there's points at stake.
"I'm sure he's just desperate to get going now and he's a good character, comes from a good family and
Quirk added: "I had a good first half of the season at Everton for the 23s, I had a good run of games, I was injury free and I feel physically ready now.
"When I was at Everton, I played in the Papa Johns Trophy against league teams, they were the best games with fans around you.
"They were properly intense and makes you want to do it every week, so I am buzzing to be here and I can't wait."
