SIGNING: Aaron joins on loan

Striker Aaron Pressley joins the Reds from Brentford on loan until the end of the season

Accrington Stanley have today completed the signing of striker Aaron Pressley from Brentford on loan until the end of the season.

Born in Edinburgh, Pressley left Aston Villa for West London in January 2020 and made his professional debut in the Sky Bet Championship later that year; a substitute in a 2-0 victory over Rotherham United.

The 6'4" striker was named in a further 12 matchday squads as Thomas Frank's side secured promotion to the Premier League via the Play-Offs, before signing for AFC Wimbledon on a season-long loan in July 2021.

Following his arrival at Plough Lane, the 21-year-old scored four goals for The Dons and was then rewarded with his maiden Scotland Under-21 call-up prior to Christmas; but was an unused substitute in both games.

John Coleman said: "I've been chasing Aaron for a while, from before he went to Wimbledon. He's now got League One experience, he's a strong lad and will be a focal point for us.

"We definitely need a striker and he will go straight into the squad for Saturday."

Pressley added: "It’s been great training this morning. I came up last night, it was obviously a long journey up from London, but the first day has been really good and I am now looking forward to the FA Cup.

"I would say I have got a great jump, I can utilise that, and hopefully they can play direct up to me and I can take the team up the pitch. I am fairly quick, I can press well and hopefully I can do my best up there."

Aaron's first interview video will be uploaded to the club's official YouTube channel later today, CLICK HERE to find out more!

The move is subject to Premier League, EFL and FA ratification.
