Accrington Stanley Football Club have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and driven individual to join the club as Deputy Groundsperson.

The Deputy Groundsperson will work alongside the Head Groundsman in maintaining and preparing playing surfaces and surrounding areas of the Wham Stadium to an exceptional standard.

Emphasis will principally be on the day-to-day preparation of the pitch and duties will also include the maintenance of all subsidiary areas across the stadium and surrounding perimeter areas.

Reporting directly to the Head Groundsman, candidates must hold a minimum of at least one years' experience in a similar role and have a NVQ Level 2 in Sports Turf and be confident in using their own initiative to carry out the relevant duties within this role to support the Head Groundsman.

The work will be varied and the ability to work effectively is essential and candidates must be reliable, trustworthy, hardworking, have an eye for detail, and willing to work outdoors in all weathers and eager to go that extra mile as part of a successful Grounds Staff team.

The role will require a commitment towards working weekends and evenings, as well as bank holidays to suit the relevant football fixture schedules and therefore a flexible approach to working hours is required to meet associated timescales.

Applicants must have good communication skills and be excellent timekeepers.

This role involves the supervision of and working with children and young people. The role will require CRC check through the DBS and clearance for work in football by the FA.
