SIGNING: Alhagi's a Red

Striker Alhagi Touray Sisay joins the Reds from Haverfordwest County on a two-year contract

25 July 2022

Accrington Stanley have today completed the permanent signing of striker Alhagi Touray Sisay from Haverfordwest County on a two-year contract.

Known as Touray, the Barcelona-born striker began his career with CF Santvicenti and scored an impressive 35 goals in 31 appearances for the Maresme-based club.

Following moves to Aberystwyth Town and Grimsby Town, he joined Haverfordwest in August 2021 and scored 12 goals last season to help secure The Bluebirds' Cymru Premier safety.

The 22-year-old, who has been on trial with the Reds, scored three goals for Ged Brannan's Under-23s side and was a second half substitute in Saturday's 2-1 win over Sunderland.

John Coleman said: "Touray has come in and really impressed us. He came to us last season and played one game for the Under-23s and he did well against a strong Sunderland side on Saturday.

"He is very dedicated, he spent a lot of time in the summer developing his fitness and he has got a good work ethic.

"We hope he can develop and benefit from the coaching of myself, Jimmy Bell and John Doolan and he can score goals for us."

Touray added: "I can’t wait for the League One season, it's perfect timing signing now with the season starting this weekend. It's a great group of lads and I get on very well here.

"I obviously like to score goals but my work rate on the pitch is one of the keys to how I play.

"I like to suffocate teams, be high, get on the ball, get physical if I have to, play and move – a bit of everything so I can help the teams in many ways."

Alhagi's first interview video will be uploaded to the club's official YouTube channel later today, CLICK HERE to find out more!

The move is subject to FIFA, EFL, English FA and Welsh FA ratification.
