Accrington Stanley have today completed the signing of midfielder Marcel Lewis from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise on loan until the end of the season.
Having began his career with Cambridge United, he joined Chelsea in September 2016 and subsequently earned his scholarship at Stamford Bridge two years later.
Lewis made a total of 25 appearances for the club's Under-23s side, scoring six goals and providing seven assists during that time.
The 20-year-old left West London in May 2021 and signed for Union SG on a three-year contract, with the midfielder then making his debut in the club's 7-0 Belgian Cup fifth round victory over FC Lebbeke.
Manager John Coleman said: "Marcel is an exciting player, he did well at Chelsea and unfortunately it hasn't worked out for him in Belgium.
"Hopefully we can get him going again, he's a skilful player and he will give us another dimension going forward."
The move is subject to FIFA, EFL, English FA and Royal Belgian FA ratification.
