Rosaire Longelo aims to excite the Stanley fans and can’t wait to get going after signing an 18-month contract with the Reds.
The 22-year-old midfielder, who primarily plays as a left winger, goes straight into the squad for tomorrow’s League One clash with MK Dons, hoping to make his league bow after playing Under-23 games for Newcastle United.
“I can’t wait to get going. Hopefully I can make my league debut and score my first league goal tomorrow although I know it won’t be easy, I know I am going to have to work my socks off,” said the former West Ham and Newcastle player.
Longelo had a trial at Stanley late last year and said, when he knew the club were interested, he jumped on it.
“I was here on trial and I enjoyed my time here. I got to know the lads, got on with the coaches and gaffer and I am a big fan.
“I signed for West Ham when I was eight-years-old, played with them all the way through to Under-18s with my younger brother and signed for Newcastle at 18.
“I was there up until 22, they are both fantastic clubs who have helped with my development.
“I have been dying to play first team football for a few years and I feel like this is the right time. It’s my time now and I want to show people what I am made of.
“I can play on the left or right, I have played wing back, I can play in a No 10 role, anywhere really where I can affect the team and get the team the three points.
“I am a positive player, I like to take people on, I am bright and skillful.
“I wanted to come here, it’s the hunger and determination of the whole club, I am a big fan. The club has got goals they want to achieve and I want to help them achieve it.
“I am exciting to maybe in the squad tomorrow, I am buzzing. I wouldn’t have thought of this a couple of weeks ago.”
