NEW CONTRACT: Morgan signs a one-year extension

Midfielder David Morgan signs a one-year contract extension with the club

17 February 2022

Accrington Stanley midfielder David Morgan has today signed a one-year extension to his current contract with the club.

The 27-year-old, who had 18 months left on his contract, joined the Reds from Southport in February 2021.

He made his first team debut later that month as John Coleman’s side drew 2-2 away at Lincoln City.

The Belfast-born midfielder has made a total of 33 appearances since his arrival, with 17 of those coming so far this season.

Morgan’s extension will keep him at the Wham Stadium until the summer of 2024.

David said: “Since I came in, I’ve really enjoyed myself and it was a no-brainer to extend my contract here for another year.

“Having been part-time at Southport, it took me a little while to get up to speed but I had a good pre-season in the summer.

"I thought I did well prior to my injury and hopefully I can get back to them levels."

The extension is subject to EFL and FA ratification.
