DEPARTURE: Miles leaves the Reds

Under-18s manager John Miles has today left the club

29 December 2022

Accrington Stanley can today confirm that Under-18s manager John Miles has left the club.

Miles, who made 111 appearances for the Reds between 2007 and 2010, returned as Professional Development Phase Lead in 2021 and guided the club to the fourth round of last season's FA Youth Cup.

The 41-year-old's side also finished fourth in the Youth Alliance League; with Emerich Poilly, Connor O'Brien, Louis Hood and Leslie Adekoya all signing their first professional contracts in 2022.

Duncan Fearnhead said: "We would all like to thank John for his contribution over the last 18 months.

"He has done a great job of helping to raise the standards and the performance of the Youth Team group over this time; which has included us achieving various records including our best ever league finish, points total and number of goals scored along with some really positive performances and results in the FA Youth Cup.

"We wish him all the best in the future."

Scott Rogers will take a role as PDP Lead, with the Head of Coaching position now available.

Everyone at the club wishes John all the very best for the future.
