Accrington Stanley kick off the 2021/22 season with a trip to Wycombe Wanderers – and will hope the fans are back for their first Sky Bet League One home game against newly-promoted Cambridge United on Saturday August 14th.
The fixtures have been released this morning with Stanley renewing their EFL rivalry with promoted Morecambe, travelling to the Globe Arena on Saturday September 25th and the Shrimps visit the Wham Stadium on Saturday January 29th.
Stanley’s festive fixtures include the visit of Rotherham United on Boxing Day and a short trip to Wigan Athletic on New Year’s Day.
John Coleman’s side welcome promoted Bolton Wanderers to the Wham on Saturday December 11th and the return trip is Easter Monday, Monday April 18th.
Stanley complete this campaign with a long trip to AFC Wimbledon on Saturday 30th April.
- While Stanley start their campaign at Wycombe, this could switch to Derby County if the EFL appeal the independent disciplinary commission’s decision. The commission fined the Rams £100,000 and ordered them to resubmit three years of accounts for breaching standards relating to ongoing disciplinary proceedings late last night. There was no mention of a points deduction in the statement but the EFL and the club has a right of appeal and the EFL has developed an interchangeable fixture list for the new season for Derby and Wycombe, while the disciplinary process is finalised.
