Accrington Stanley have today completed the permanent signing of striker Josh Woods from Clay Brow on a one-year contract.
The former barber has been on trial with the Reds for a number of weeks, with the 21-year-old grabbing two goals for Ged Brannan's Under-23s side against Ashton Town.
Woods also featured in the behind-closed-doors pre-season friendly with Blackpool, as well as coming on as a second half substitute in Tuesday night's 2-0 win over Warrington Town.
John Coleman said: "Josh has got an opportunity here, I hope he takes it because he's such a good lad.
"He's a great character and we can give people opportunities, hopefully they can take them. He's got pace, he never gives anything up and he can score goals.
"We've often given people chances and it has paid off, so hopefully he'll be the next one who kickstarts his career with us."
Josh said: "I can't describe how happy I am, it's an unbelievable feeling and it still feels surreal.
"I've really enjoyed training with the lads and now that I've signed my contract, I need to kick on and keep impressing the manager.
"He told me the day before the Blackpool game that he was going to have a chat with me, so I spent the whole night overthinking it and dying to find out what was going to happen.
"Thankfully it was good news and then all my emotions came out. I'm now going to have to put my barbering to one side and focus completely on football."
A first interview video with Josh will be uploaded to the club's official YouTube channel next week, CLICK HERE to find out more!
The move is subject to EFL and FA ratification.
