Accrington Stanley have today completed the permanent signing of former Liverpool midfielder Liam Coyle on a one-year contract.
Coyle joined his boyhood club at the age of 10 and made his debut for the club's Under-18s in 2015, despite being just 15-years-old at the time.
Having worked under both Neil Critchley and Steven Gerrard during his time at Liverpool, the 21-year-old also went on to captain the club at various age groups.
Coyle, who is primarily a defensive midfielder, played the first half in yesterday's 3-0 win at Clitheroe and operated as a wing-back for John Coleman's side.
He also received a call-up to a Northern Ireland Under-21s training camp in March 2019.
Liam said: "It feels great to get the deal done, the manager has been superb with me and it's an amazing environment to be in.
"I like to think I do the basics well in that I win my headers and my tackles, and then I like to play forward where possible.
"I've played as a wing-back before, it's not my usual position but I'm happy to put a shift in wherever is needed for the team."
A first interview video with Liam will be uploaded to the club's official YouTube channel later in pre-season, CLICK HERE to find out more!
