PREVIEW: Bradford City (H)

Tickets for Saturday’s pre-season friendly will be available to purchase up until kick-off

30 July 2021

It's another game at the Wham Stadium as Accrington Stanley round off their pre-season preparations against Sky Bet League Two side Bradford City.

John Coleman's side will be looking to head into the new season on the back of a potential four games unbeaten when they take on The Bantams, with a week to go until the Sky Bet League One season gets going.

Last Saturday's 1-1 draw with Preston North End saw Stanley welcome fans back to the Wham Stadium for the first time in 504 days, with a younger Reds side then defeating Warrington Town 2-0 on Tuesday night.

Burnley loanee Joel Mumbongo opened the scoring after just two minutes, with a trialist then adding a second goal against The Yellows at Cantilever Park.

This weekend's game will be Bradford's seventh outing of pre-season, with their only defeat coming in midweek against National League side Chesterfield.

The Bantams are under a new manager this season in the form of Derek Adams, with the Scotsman having just guided Morecambe to promotion to the third tier for the first time in the club's history.

After finishing 15th in the table last season, Adams has already brought in eight new faces during the off-season.

Midfielder Yann Songo'o has followed the Scotsman from Morecambe, with right-back Oscar Threlkeld and striker Lee Angol also arriving at the Utilita Energy Stadium.

Whilst Stanley travel to Wycombe Wanderers on the opening day, the West Yorkshire club will kick their League Two campaign off against Exeter City.

Tickets

Tickets for Saturday’s pre-season friendly are still on sale from the club’s retail shop, with tickets also available to purchase up until kick-off from the matchday ticket office.

Adult tickets are priced at £10, with all Concession tickets priced at £5.

Fanzone Marquee

Don't forget that the Fanzone Marquee will be open to both sets of supporters from 12.30pm, with live music from 1pm.

We will also be trialling the Bottoms Up Beer quick fill dispensers, with a view to installing them around the Wham Stadium if they are proved a success.
