Dion Charles gave the Reds an early lead but it looked as though Michael Appleton's side would secure all three points, with Morgan Rogers and Tom Hopper both scoring second half goals.
However, Charles fired a stoppage-time volley past Alex Palmer and inside the far post to grab his second goal of the game which ensured the Reds left the LNER Stadium with a point.
