Accrington Stanley conceded a goal in either half as John Coleman's side suffered a 2-0 defeat at Crewe Alexandra.
Former Red Omar Beckles gave the hosts the lead on 32 minutes, with Harvey Rodgers then receiving a straight red card five minutes after the half-time break for a foul on Charlie Kirk.
David Artell's side secured the three points on 79 minutes when Tom Lowery's low cross allowed Chris Porter to slot the ball into an open net at the back post.
