UPDATE: COVID-19 certification

COVID-19 certification will NOT be a legal entry requirement at the Wham Stadium

23 December 2021

Accrington Stanley can confirm that COVID-19 certification will NOT be a legal entry requirement for forthcoming fixtures at the Wham Stadium.

Earlier in the month, the Government announced that COVID 'Plan B' mitigation measures would come into effect from Wednesday 15th December, as the new Omicrom variant spreads across the country at an alarming rate.

The new restrictions state that those aged 18 or over who are attending an event with more than 10,000 spectators must present a valid NHS COVID Pass, regardless of their vaccination status.

This process applies for all home and away supporters, as well as all personal assistants accompanying fans with disabilities.

Stanley's 5,450 capacity is well under the new event rules and the concourses are all situated outside which also helps reduce the opportunities of the virus spreading.

Our first fixture under the new legislation will be the visit of Rotherham United to the Wham Stadium on Sunday 26th December.

The club's number one priority is to create a safe environment for fans to watch live football and we therefore encourage everyone visiting the Wham Stadium to be respectful of those who wish to wear masks and socially distance.

Clearly, this is a developing situation, and we will continue to communicate any further updates to our fanbase via our official club channels as soon as we receive the information.

As always, we thank supporters for their patience and support during these unprecedented and challenging circumstances.
