Accrington Stanley have today completed the permanent signing of defender Mitch Clark from Leicester City on a two-year contract.
Having come through the youth system at Aston Villa, the 22-year-old then signed a three-year deal with Leicester in July 2019.
Clark, who has previously represented Wales at youth level, has also spent time out on loan at Port Vale, alongside former Stanley captain Luke Joyce.
Manager John Coleman said: "Mitch has outgrown the Under-23s at Leicester, he's someone who we've been monitoring for a while.
"I think he fits into our modus operandi, hopefully we can kick him on into his professional career.
"I'd still like to bring another two or three in before the window shuts."
Mitch said: "Growing up, I was at Aston Villa until I was 19. I was on loan at Port Vale on the last year of my contract at Villa, then I signed for Leicester on a three-year-deal and I went back to Port Vale.
"I was with Joycey there, who is a top bloke, a top professional and someone I aspire too.
"I learnt a lot at Port Vale - the difference between Under 23 and men's football, the standard, the physicality and, since I have had a taste of it, I want more and to improve."
That's when the chance came to sign for the Reds.
"My situation has been sticky as my contract was still with Leicester but I had a few clubs interested. Accrington being a League One team and on the up, I thought why not challenge myself?
"It's great, I met the lads earlier in training, everyone has been really welcoming and I have had my first look at the ground, I can't wait to set foot on it.
"I am an aggressive full-back who likes to get forward and put in a challenge and I definitely don't like losing.
"I know the fans will be passionate and I can't wait to get started."

The move is subject to Premier League, EFL and FA ratification, with Mitch set to wear the number 36 shirt.
