Accrington Stanley and the rest of English football will unite for a social media boycott in response to the ongoing and sustained discriminatory abuse received online by players and many others connected to football.
The club will therefore fall silent across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram from 3.00pm on Friday 30th April until 11.59pm on Monday 3rd May.
Social media companies must do more to stop online abuse and we are also urging the UK Government to ensure its Online Safety Bill will bring in strong legislation to make social media companies more accountable for what happens on their platforms.
Please note that while the club's social media channels will be silent for the weekend, the club website will continue to be updated with team news, live match updates in the match centre and post-match reaction.
