AWARD: Reds shortlisted for this year's Football Business Awards

Stanley have been shortlisted as a finalist for the Best Club Marketing award

27 April 2021

Accrington Stanley have today been shortlisted as a finalist for the Best Club Marketing award at the Football Business Awards 2021.

The recognition comes as a result of the club's great shirt giveaway, which ensures that 1,200 Year 3 pupils receive a shirt.

Owner Andy Holt backed the campaign for a fourth year running, although this year's giveaway had to be done differently due to COVID-19.

This time the Official Accrington Stanley Supporters' Trust (OASST), along with Scott Dawson Advertising, packed and delivered the 1,200 goody bags to the 40 schools.

As well as a shirt, the goody bags also contained items such as flags, yo-yos and fridge magnets from sponsors Studio and Sundown.

Managing Director, David Burgess said: "We are delighted to have been shortlisted for this prestigious award, the shirt giveaway is the best thing that we've done for the club to engage with the local community.

"It would be great to be rewarded with the award, with all the effort that went into the initiative."

The lunchtime ceremony will be held at The Brewery in London on Tuesday 6th July.
