Midfielder Scully signs up

Former Everton and Norwich youngster puts pen to paper on two-year deal

2 September 2020

John Coleman has made midfielder Tom Scully his sixth signing of the summer.

The former Everton and Norwich player, who turns 21 next month, has signed a two-year deal at the Wham Stadium after impressing in pre-season.

“Tom is an exciting prospect,” said Coleman. “He has a good pedigree having been at Everton and Norwich and he has impressed since he came in. He is an attacking midfielder.

“The fans might think having six summer signings means we have a big squad but we have a small squad, supplemented by the Under 23s.”

Liverpool-based Scully said: “I left Norwich this summer and got a call to come to Accrington and thankfully they offered me a deal.

“I had a scholarship at Everton and I signed a professional deal at Norwich and spent two years there.

“I like to create things, I like to get assists and chip in with goals. I like to think I can read the game well.”

Tom Scully will be No. 20 in the squad.
