CONTRACT: Savin signs new deal

Goalkeeper Toby Savin will stay at the Reds until 2023

18 September 2020

Accrington Stanley goalkeeper Toby Savin has today signed a new three-year contract which will keep him at the club until 2023.

The 19-year-old kept a clean sheet on his Sky Bet League One debut in the 2-0 victory over Peterborough United last Saturday.

Since signing his first professional contract, Savin has made a total of five first team appearances which includes keeping three clean sheets.

In November 2019, the goalkeeper also received a call-up to England Men's Goalkeeping Development Camp at St George's Park.

After signing his new contract, Savin said: "It's the perfect start for me and I'm just buzzing to get this new deal over the line, and I'm delighted to sign another contract.

"This is the perfect club for me and for the start of my career, I've been given the chance to play first team football early on and I just want to repay that by doing my best for the team and for the fans.

"I got quite a few messages from the fans and we all know how supportive they can be, they've sent me a lot of messages wishing me good luck."

Thank you to Andy and Jo McLauchlan and Roy Braithwaite for sponsoring Toby for the 2020/21 season.

The goalkeeper's new contract is subject to EFL and FA ratification.
