Accrington Stanley have today completed the signing of Michael Nottingham from Blackpool for an undisclosed fee.
The 31-year-old, who becomes the club's second signing of the day following the arrival of Nathan Baxter, has signed a three-year deal with the Reds.
Nottingham has spent a large part of his career in non-league football, including spells with Gresley, Solihull Moors and Salford City.
After his contract had ended with Salford in May 2018, he made the step up to the Football League to join Blackpool on a two-year deal.
The defender then moved to Crewe Alexandra on loan in January 2020, where he made 12 appearances before the season was curtailed and The Alex were subsequently promoted to Sky Bet League One.
Nottingham, who has also made two international appearances for Saint Kitts and Nevis, said that manager John Coleman was the key reason in him making the switch to the Wham Stadium.
"It came about very quickly but I wanted to speak to the manager as soon as I could and he sold it to me straightaway.
"He said he's been an admirer of mine for many years and that he'd tried to sign me in the past, and he feels like i can play a massive part in taking the club forward."
Michael's first interview video will be uploaded to the club's official YouTube channel later today, CLICK HERE to find out more!
Coleman added: "He's someone we've tracked all summer, and he fits the bill for what we want and the style were going to play.
"He chips in with goals, he's good in the air and he's one who ticks all the boxes for us."
The move is subject to EFL and FA ratification, with Nottingham set to wear the number 2 shirt during his time at the club.
