Training continues for Stanley's upcoming Ride to the Light

Stanley's 200-mile charity cycle ride from Accrington to Sunderland is just over seven weeks away

1 March 2020

Training is well underway for the riders taking part in Accrington Stanley's Ride to the Light charity cycle ride to Sunderland ahead of the fixture between the two sides on Saturday 25th April.

A team of 10 riders will be taking on the approximately 200-mile charity cycle ride to help raise a target of £5,000 for the Official Accrington Stanley Supporters' Trust (OASST).

The money raised from the ride will be spent on furnishing the new bars, being built as part of the next phase of development at the Wham Stadium, with Stanley memorabilia (pictures and paintings) for everyone to look at and enjoy.

  • Friday 24th April - Penrith to Hexham (circa 75-80 miles)

The riders will include Accrington Stanley's David Burgess (Managing Director), Ash Hoskin (Head of Recruitment), Josh Adcroft (PA Announcer), Dave Barrow and Jim Curtis (both Season Ticket holders).

Peter Leatham and Peter Warburton from the OASST will also be the service vehicle backup team, keeping the riders fuelled and fed en route.
