10 June 2020

Boss John Coleman has released five players so far as he looks ahead to the 2020/21 campaign now  Stanley's 2019/20 season has finished.

Goalkeeper Dimi Evtimov signed last summer and played the first part of the season until an injury thwarted the Bulgarian's campaign and he has been released by the Reds boss.

Left back Zaine Francis-Angol put pen to paper last summer after being at Fylde but has been limited to five EFL appearances for the Reds.

Erico de Sousa has been with the Reds since June 2017 but has been unable to hold down a first team place while midfielder Wilson Carvalho, who also signed last summer, made 15 appearances for the Reds in all competitions and has also been released.

Phil Edwards was in his third spell with the Reds after initially coming on loan in 2005/6 from Wigan, with the deal turning permanent, and he stayed with Stanley until the Play-Off campaign in 2010/11. He returned in August last year but has been limited to eight appearances in all competitions.

Stanley's loan players have also now returned to their parent clubs - Joe Bursik, Jerome Opoku, Aji Alese, Sadou Diallo, Benny Ashley-Seal, Connor Simpson, Courtney Baker-Richardson and Bobby Grant.
