Everyone at Accrington Stanley is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former winger Raymond Byrom, aged 85.
Raymond, who was a pacy left-winger, joined the club in 1957 before moving to Bradford Park Avenue two years later.
The Blackburn-born winger was one of three members of his family to play for Stanley after his son Alan and grandson Joel also featured for the Reds, with the latter now playing for Stevenage.
After suffering a career ending injury in 1961, Raymond worked for multiple different motor supplies companies before setting up Ray's Garage Supplies in 1972 with his wife Agnes.
Ray passed away on Monday 6th January after a short spell in hospital.
A requiem mass will take place on Friday 24th January at St Mary's RC Church in Oswaldtwistle at 1.30pm.
Everyone's thoughts at Accrington Stanley are with Raymond's family and friends at this sad time.
