Accrington Stanley can now confirm that the club have retired the number 29 shirt in honour of club legend Billy Kee.

It was announced on Wednesday that the striker would retire from full-time professional football due to personal reasons.

Billy received an unbelievable reception at the Wham Stadium this afternoon ahead of kick-off, after the 29-year-old scored 83 goals and provided 46 assists during two spells with the Reds.

The striker also played a pivotal role in helping the club secure the League Two championship, including scoring a 93rd minute winner away at title rivals Luton Town.

Everyone at the club wishes Billy and his family health and happiness going forward.
