IMPORTANT: Fans returning to the Wham Stadium

Plans in place for safe return despite Hyndburn remaining in Tier 3

17 December 2020

There will be no Christmas cheer with a return to the Wham Stadium for Stanley fans as the Hyndburn area remains in Tier 3.

As Covid-related numbers remain high, the safe return of spectators will be mid-January at the earliest.

When it does though, the club will be ready and geared up to make the return of fans safe and enjoyable….and socially distanced!

In the meantime, we have set out below, in basic terms, what will be required to get back into the Wham Stadium – more detailed information will be circulated once we have a return date.

INTRO

Covid has changed everyone’s life moving forward and coming back to football will be no different – there will be a ‘new norm’ inside the Wham Stadium, and for the foreseeable future we will all need to embrace it!

The information below sets out the operational policies we all need to follow to ensure we provide the safest environment possible for all supporters.

Whilst some of the policies may seem draconian, we need ALL supporters to support them to demonstrate to the stadium licencing authorities that we are working in line with their licensing conditions to deliver a safe event.

The match day staff and stewards are there to help and to make sure your visit is enjoyable and safe. Please help them to help you by being considerate and attentive to their directives throughout the game.

GENERAL INFO

Season tickets and Covid cards are ready for collection now. If you have not yet collected your season ticket from the club offices, please arrange collection prior to the day of the game (whenever that is!) to avoid unnecessary queues. The offices are open daily (Monday-Friday) from 10am to 4pm.

MATCH ENTRY

Initially, only current season ticket holders will be allowed into the stadium.

Season ticket holders from other Tier 3 areas should avoid travelling to games at the Wham Stadium once Hyndburn Borough is downgraded to Tier 2 (as per government guidance).

SEASON TICKETS AND COVID CARDS

Season tickets are not transferable, and each season ticket holder will receive a colour coded Covid card which determines the stand and seat (where applicable) the season ticket holder will have access to whilst Covid restrictions remain in place. The colour coded card will also determine which turnstile entrance the season ticket holder will be able to use on match days. Each entry point will colour coded outside the turnstile.

COVID CARDS – COLOUR CODES

HML Recycling Stand (Main Stand)          Yellow

Farleys Solicitors Stand (Clayton End)      Light Blue

Studio.co,uk Stand (Whinney Hill Stand)  Green

Coppice End                                           Purple

ARRIVAL ON MATCH DAY/NIGHT

Turnstiles will be open a minimum of 90 minutes before kick-off and we would like for all fans to be in their seats/standing places no later than 45 minutes before kick-off. This gives ample time for everyone to become accustomed to the changes around the colour coded entry points and operational procedures once inside the stadium.

We ask that everyone wears a face mask (unless exempt) at all times and that social distancing always takes place when within the stadium footprint.

ONCE INSIDE THE STADIUM

Once fans are inside the stadium, we ask that you go straight to your seat/standing position using the one-way systems in operation and continue wearing your mask. Remain in your seat/standing position unless using the toilet facilities where, once again, one-way systems are in place.

Important - It is extremely likely that you WILL NOT be sat in your normal season ticket seat whilst Covid restrictions remain in place. You will be able to return to your normal season ticket seat once all restrictions have been lifted.

DURING THE GAME

It is vitally important that fans with season tickets on the Clayton End remain socially distanced and those with seated tickets always remain seated throughout the game. *This is possibly the most important requirement to ensure the club retains its license to operate during the Covid restrictions* Please do not congregate on walkways or concourses and only leave your seats or standing areas when using the toilet facilities.

FOOD OUTLETS

Initially all food and drink outlets will remain closed. Supporters who wish to bring their own hot or cold drinks (no alcohol please) and food can do so, but please use a see-through bag to save on unnecessary searches at the turnstiles.

EXITING THE MATCH

Once the game has ended please remain in your seat or standing position until directed to leave by a match steward. This will be on a block-by-block basis to ensure social distancing remains in place. Please always wear your face mask. *Your support in exiting this way is crucial to the club in retaining its license to operate during Covid restrictions*

We WANT you to enjoy yourself and get behind the lads

We WANT to make the occasion as close to normal as possible

We NEED you to cooperate with the directives in place

We NEED to show the authorities that we can deliver a safe and enjoyable event within the operational policies set out.
