Accrington Stanley and Hyndburn's largest employer, Studio, are making Christmas a little jollier for struggling local families with a generous donation of toys to be distributed to them through Maundy Relief.
A large selection of toys for all ages were donated through Amazing Accrington, with a selection of Stanley's coaching staff and players on hand to help sort through them.
Jimmy Bell, Stanley's Assistant Manager said: "We're really pleased to be able to help our community, and provide some contribution to this amazing initiative.
"Myself and Colby Bishop, Seamus Conneely and Jon Russell came down to help, and show our support, just like the community supports us."
Lucy Hardwick, CEO of Maundy Relief added: "Christmas is a time for family and happiness, and some members of our community are struggling to make ends meet.
"In order to make sure those children have a Merry Christmas too, we're delighted Studio and Accrington Stanley were able to get these toys to us to distribute to our neediest families.
"We vet everyone ourselves so they will only go to families in real need."
Collette King, Director of HR at Studio added: "This year has been a particularly tough year for all of us, and we're delighted to be able to once again donate our ex-photography toys to a worthy cause.
"Local families will be able to access some fantastic gifts, and local charity Maundy Relief will make sure they get to the right place.
"We're delighted to give back to the community that has supported us for so long."
Julie Hesmondhalgh, Patron of Maundy Relief said: "Every year I'm so pleased to see how we all pulll together to help our community here in Accy.
"Huge thanks to Studio too for their donations and support!"
