Defender Zehn Mohammed has signed an improved contract which will keep him at Accrington Stanley until 2020, with a one year option.
The 19-year-old is currently on loan at National League North side Southport, along with Reds team-mate Reagan Ogle.
The Blackburn-born player came through the youth ranks at the Wham Stadium and has also spent time out on loan at Ramsbottom United and FC United.
“I am enjoying playing regularly and have started most of the games for Southport so far this season,” said Mohammed, who scored for the Sandgrounders against Blyth recently.
“I have been at Accrington for five years so I am happy to extend my time here.”
