Accrington Stanley Under-18s returned to winning ways in comfortable fashion against Morecambe with Luke Stowe, Charlie Ridge, Jak McKinlay and Kevin Spinelli helping themselves to a goal each.
The opening half an hour consisted of Stanley possessing the ball until Ridge found an opening behind the Morecambe defence allowing Ellis to chip the ball over the goalkeeper, who's effort may or may not have crossed the line, but Stowe charged in to head home to confirm his first of the season.
Stanley continued to put pressure on the Shrimps, and it was the striking duo who linked up again, as Ellis found Ridge this time, who calmly slotted his first time shot into the opposite corner.
After a dominant first-half display, the chances kept on coming in the second as Ryan Graham found himself heading over the crossbar from six yards out.
Moments after Graham's chance, Daniel Martin got on the end of a loose ball on the edge of the box as his lethal strike rattled back off the crossbar.
Without testing Liam Isherwood all afternoon, Morecambe were handed a lifeline 17 minutes from time as second half substitute Mitchell Nolan's misplaced pass allowed the Shrimps forward to smash the ball against the post and into the back of the net.
To squash any sort of comeback, up stepped McKinlay as he danced his way into the opposition's penalty box before curling his left-footed shot into the far righthand corner.
Five minutes from time, Spinelli used his strength and pace providing himself with an opportunity to release a rocket of a shot, which flew past Morecambe's goalkeeper and into the roof of the net.
The Reds will be looking to build on this performance against joint leaders Preston North End on Saturday 7th September.
