Zanzala: I think we can go all the way

Stanley striker Offrande Zanzala discusses the 3-0 win over Oldham Athletic

9 October 2019

Accrington Stanley striker Offrande Zanzala was happy to get his name on the scoresheet again in the 3-0 win away at Oldham Athletic and that it was important for the club to progress to the next round of the Leasing.com Trophy.

Zanzala slotted home from the penalty spot just before half-time after Lamine Kaba Sherif had been brought down and the striker explained how he felt the Reds created a lot of chances before the break and were deserving of their two goal advantage.

"I thought it was a good game, we worked hard and we opened them up well
we know our team from back four to midfield to the attacking three.

"I thought we kept it well and created loads of chances, especially in the first half and we deserved the three points and we're obviously through to the next round."

Stanley's win over Oldham secures the club's progression to the next round of the Leasing.com Trophy and Zanzala doesn't see a reason why the club can't go all the way and reach Wembley Stadium.

"I think we can go all the way, there's no point just being in the competition if you don't think you can win it.

"We've got a great team and we've been working hard all week just preparing for this game especially and now obviously we've done this and got through to the next round.

"We'll start preparing for the next game and take every game as they come."

The striker recently returned to John Coleman's side after being out through injury, and after grabbing goals in his last two games he is hoping to continue his good form in front of goal.

"I'm delighted to be back and playing more minutes in my legs which is always good.

"Obviously getting on the scoresheet is the best thing and the best feeling as a striker.

"I'm delighted to also get the three points for the team as well, so at the end of the day the three points are what matter the most and I'm obviously happy to be on the scoresheet again."
