Four of Accrington Stanley's first team squad attended Smyths Toys Superstores in Blackburn yesterday afternoon to celebrate the launch of FIFA 20.
In attendance were Joe Maguire, Joe Pritchard, Jordan Clark and Jerome Opoku, with all four players getting rather competitive on FIFA 20, both against each other and also against supporters who came along.
Stanley's players were definitely out to win with Clark defeating his first opposition 6-0, before Maguire inflicted consecutive 4-0 defeats on his opposing players.
The win at all costs mentality didn't stop there though as Clark tricked his opposition by pretending he didn't know how to play, and insisted the young supporter showed him the controls, before continuing the game while his opposition's eyes weren't on the screen.
As well as this, the two-hour event saw Stanley's players pose for pictures and sign merchandise including posters, football boots and copies of FIFA 20.
Accrington Stanley's Commercial Manager, Daniel Bowerbank said: "It's great to have Smyths on board in assisting the club promote the launch of FIFA 20 and being involved in the local community.
"Nick and the team at the Smyths store in Blackburn were very accommodating with the players on their visit and offered the chance for fans to meet players, and get signed merchandise along with pitting their wits against them on FIFA 20 while in store.
"As part of the club's fan engagement we are looking to add more club, fan and commercial events with local businesses over the next 12 months and we look forward to working with Nick and Smyths throughout the remainder of the season."
