Accrington Stanley midfielder Jordan Clark has been in fine form of late and the winger admitted during yesterday's pre-match press conference that he's really looking forward to tomorrow's game away at Rochdale.
The Reds come into the game on the back of a 3-0 win over Oldham Athletic in the Leasing.com Trophy in which Clark grabbed his fourth goal in his last seven games.
"It's just confidence really, we made a lot of changes so it's great for them.
"I love playing football and scoring again, it gives me great confidence.
"When your confidence is up you can't wait for the games to come around, I'm a confidence player and I feel like I've started the season well.
"The main thing for myself is chipping in with goals and winning games."
The club itself has only lost once in the last nine outings and Clark feels as though the team is now really starting to gel after a huge amount of transfer activity over the summer.
"I've been here a few years now and you get to know how people play.
"Joe Pritchard tells me how he's going to play and you get to learn how players want to play.
"There's a lot of new faces this season and a lot of young lads which is good for the club.
"You've got to give them as much advice as you can, it's about doing the ugly stuff which them lads aren't used to."
One of the new signings over the summer was striker Colby Bishop and Clark explained how he enjoys playing off him and that Bishop links up the play well.
"He's good in the air and he's a strong lad, he links up the play well and if we want to go long, he can win the flicks on.
"As a wide man, I have to try and play off him."
Stanley go into tomorrow's game a place above Rochdale and Clark expects it to be a good game with some added incentive for the winger.
"It'll be a good game to be fair, they're playing a lot of football and credit to the manager.
"I'm sure it'll be a good game and I'm really looking forward to it.
"My neighbour's a big Rochdale fan and he's been saying how well they've been playing this year.
"I'm sure he'll be knocking on my door if they beat us.
"He was happy last year so we've got to get one back over him."
