Wham Stadium becomes an Asset of Community Value

The OASSC submitted the application last month and it has now been approved by Hyndburn Borough Council

Accrington Stanley and the Official Accrington Stanley Supporters' Club (OASSC) are pleased to confirm that the Wham Stadium has been added to the register of Assets of Community Value (ACV) by Hyndburn Borough Council.

The application for inclusion was submitted last month and the Stadium will now remain on the register for an initial five years until Tuesday 19th November 2024.

The OASSC Chairman, Peter Leatham said: "The Supporters' Club met the criteria to make the application for the ACV register and we are delighted that it was approved by the Council.

"The ACV is another small part of preserving all the good work that has taken place over the last few years and is the logical step for us to take in support of Andy Holt and our football club.

"We thought the ground ticked the key aspects of making a successful application in that it enhances the local communities social well-being and will continue to do so.

"The ACV will serve to protect the status as a sports venue and provide an additional barrier to any future unwelcome development on the site."
