Jonny Maxted has today left Accrington Stanley to join Exeter City.
The goalkeeper, who signed for the club in January 2018, will officially join The Grecians on Monday 1st July ahead of the 2019/20 Sky Bet League Two season.
Maxted joined the club from Guiseley after playing against Stanley in the FA Cup first round replay between the two sides, a game in which the 26-year-old saved two of Stanley's penalties during the shootout.
The Tadcaster-born goalkeeper began his senior career at Doncaster Rovers, and also spent time with Hartlepool United and Forest Green Rovers before he permanently joined Guiseley in November 2016.
Maxted said: "I have some great memories from being at Accrington, I was excited to be bought after my FA Cup performances and being here when we won League Two was special.
"I want to thank the fans for their support during my 18 months at Accrington and I will be keeping in touch with my Stanley teammates.
"The move to Exeter came at the right time as it's a fresh start as I am searching for regular first team football. I hope I can cement my place in the Exeter team."
Manager John Coleman said: "Jonny did really well for us.
"He was adamant he wanted first team football and we couldn't stand in his way.
"We wish him all the best and we hope his career continues to flourish."
Maxted played a total of 27 appearances for Stanley during his one-and-a-half-year spell with the club, during which time he kept six clean sheets.
Everyone at Accrington Stanley wishes Jonny all the best with his future career.
