Kaba Sherif: I felt that it's the right club

15 July 2019

Accrington Stanley midfielder Lamine Kaba Sherif admitted that it feels like the right club for him after joining John Coleman's side this afternoon on a free transfer.

The 20-year-old, who has signed a two-year contract with Stanley, first heard of the interest towards the end of last season and explained that he felt a good vibe as soon as he met up with the squad.

"Towards the end of the season I heard interest from the club and obviously it was good to hear interest.

"As soon as I got down here, I met the players and the team and I felt a vibe and I was buzzing, so I felt that it's the right club."

Kaba Sherif also spoke of his desire to show the fans how good of a player he can be and how he can help the team during the 2019/20 Sky Bet League One season.

"I can't wait to get going in the season and to show what I'm made of.

"It's an opportunity for me to play good and show the Accrington fans and Accrington the club itself how good of a player I can be and how I can help the team push on."

The midfielder joins the club from Leicester City, and he explained how he feels that he has developed better because of those that have been around him and that play in a similar position as him.

"I think I've developed well, I'm a midfielder.

"So, I've trained with the likes of (N'Golo) Kanté and (Wilfred) Ndidi, which are players that I am most suitable to and that I may see as like an idol to basically enhance my performance and I look up to them."
