Accrington Stanley have today bolstered their defensive options with the arrival of full-back Joe Maguire on a free transfer.
The 23-year-old, who joins from Fleetwood Town, has signed a one-year contract with the option of a further year ahead of the 2019/20 Sky Bet League One season.
Maguire began his career with Liverpool and after progressing through the academy ranks, he made his senior debut for the club in the FA Cup against Exeter City in January 2016.
The full-back then joined Fleetwood in January 2017 on a two-and-a-half-year contract, before being loaned out to Crawley Town for the 2018/19 season.
Stanley manager John Coleman said: "Joe is someone I looked at when he was at Liverpool but I did not manage to sign him and he went to Fleetwood.
"His career has been stop-start since then and this is a chance for him to kick on.
"He is a talented footballer, he has a great left foot and I am hoping he fights Sean McConville and gets on some of the free-kicks."
Maguire is Stanley's fourth signing of the summer transfer window.
