Harry turns pro

24 July 2019

Accrington Stanley defender Harry Perritt has today signed his first professional contract with the club.

The 19-year-old has signed a one-year contract with the option of a further year ahead of the 2019/20 Sky Bet League One season.

Perritt, who was originally at Preston North End, has been with the club for eight years and can play at either full-back or on the wing.

The former Preston defender played a pivotal role in Stanley's youth team reaching the Fifth Round of the 2018/19 FA Youth Cup, including scoring two goals against Tranmere Rovers in the opening round.

After signing his contract Perritt said: "I'm over the moon just to get it done and get it sorted before the season starts.

"It's been a dream ever since I was young to say that I'm a professional football, it's surreal.

"The hard work that I've gone through and I've had to commit everything to football, it's paid off in the end.

"The Academy coaches have been a massive help to all of us."

Perritt is the fifth scholar at the club to have signed a professional contract during the summer transfer window, following Toby Savin, Lewis Gilboy, Matty Williams and Alex O'Neill.
