Piero Mingoia has gone on loan to Sky Bet League Two side Morecambe for the rest of the season.
The winger was part of the Reds team who reached the Play-Offs in 2016, left to spend two seasons at Cambridge United but returned last summer.
However he hasn't been able to force his way into the starting XI on a regular basis and the 27-year-old has made the switch to Jim Bentley's Shrimps.
"It's a chance for him to get some games under his belt," said manager John Coleman. "The form of Sean McConville and Jordan Clark has meant that his game-time has been limited.
"Piero wants to play, he needs to play. He is a good character and he is not happy just sitting around.
"I obviously know Jim well and know Morecambe will look after him."
