John Coleman is relishing the visit of Blackpool this weekend – and is desperate for his side to get on the scoresheet.
The Reds haven't scored in five league games, since their Boxing Day victory over Shrewsbury, and Coleman just wants to see the ball hit the back of the net.
The Seasiders are currently in eighth place, six points outside the Play-Off places, while Stanley are in 15th place, seven points behind the Seasiders, and also looking over their shoulders, five points off the bottom four.“It's really frustrating,” said Coleman. “It's not like Accrington to go through a spell like this but it happens and you have to keep working hard and keep trying.
“We have had enough chances in all those five games. We are not hitting the target like we should, we are picking the wrong option in the final third or we are not executing our final pass well enough.
“Hopefully it will all come together against Blackpool and it will be like buses, once we get one, more will come.
"We have not had the win return our performances have deserved but you can't feel sorry for yourself, you have got to plough on."
Coleman is good friends with Blackpool boss Terry McPhillips and they have ex-Reds Jimmy Ryan and John O'Sullivan in their ranks as well as Nick Anderton, who was on loan at the Wham Stadium for the first half of the campaign.
“Blackpool have done well this season and have picked up some really good results to move to the fringe of the Play-Off places. They went to Portsmouth and won recently which is a great result and they have some very good players.
“I know, in this league, any team can beat another on their day and we have to hope that Saturday is our day.”
Midfielder Dan Barlaser is back in contention after his one-game ban.
