Barlaser aims for goals

4 January 2019

Dan Barlaser's aim for the second half of the season is more goals after extending his loan spell from Newcastle United until May.

The midfielder has impressed after arriving in August and securing a regular place in the centre of the park.

"I am happy to stay here," said the 21-year-old. "I love it, it's like one big family with the players and the staff.

"I am playing regularly at a high level and I am playing alongside some very good players so it's great experience for me.

"My aim is to score more goals. I have two goals in the cup so far and I haven't yet scored a league goal and so that's what I want to do.

"I should have scored a league goal as I have had a couple which have come close and that's frustrating.

"Hopefully as a team we will go on a run like we had at the start of the season and string a run wins together, a couple of wins on the bounce, which will move us back up the league."

Barlaser is ready for the Emirates FA Cup tomorrow against Championship side Ipswich Town.

"I have played for Newcastle in the FA Cup. We beat Birmingham but then lost to Oxford. I love the FA Cup, we have had two poor results and we know we need to rectify that and it would be a start winning tomorrow."
