John Coleman expects an entertaining game at the Wham Stadium on Saturday as Coventry City are the visitors.

The Sky Blues, promoted with Stanley last season, are in 10th place, six points ahead of the 15th placed Reds.

It's the third home game on the bounce for Coleman's men – they have taken four points so far with a win over Oxford and a draw against Southend.

“We are unbeaten in three games, which is something we can take comfort from,” said Coleman, whose side went seven league games without a win before Oxford.

“I would just like us to play better in games.

“We played well against Oxford in big parts of the game but we were quite flat on Saturday against Southend. Still we got a goal and we could have won but we have got to keep trying to improve.

“Coventry are a big club, they are a good side with a good manager and they play football the right way.

“I loved watching them play Luton last week, where they drew, and so it's a game I am looking forward to.

“We drew with them at their place earlier in the season and we could have won. We conceded a late goal which was avoidable but both teams have changed a lot since then.”

Coleman admitted it's up to the doctors whether goalkeeper Jonny Maxted starts, after suffering a head injury last week in the 1-1 draw with Southend and being forced off.

He also says the team are missing defender Ross Sykes, who came through the ranks with the Reds and has established himself in the first team this season.

“Ross has a groin strain and it's a shame as he has been a bright spark this season. I have got faith in anyone I bring in though.

“Ross is probably out for another three weeks and we won't rush him back.”
