All the important information ahead of Stanley's clash with AFC Wimbledon

16 August 2019

Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman takes his side to London to face AFC Wimbledon in search of their first win of the season at The Cherry Red Records Stadium on Saturday 17th August, 3pm kick-off.

Stanley's season has so far consisted of a 2-0 league defeat away to Lincoln City and a 3-1 Carabao Cup loss at home to Sunderland on Tuesday.

The Dons, who are managed by Wally Downes, come into the game on the back of three successive defeats, including a Carabao Cup defeat to Milton Keynes Dons on Tuesday.

Downes, a former Wimbledon player, has been in charge of the club since 2018, having previously managed Brentford.

The two league defeats to Rotherham United and Fleetwood Town see The Dons currently sit 18th in the Sky Bet League One table, just one place above Stanley.

The corresponding fixture saw the two sides draw 1-1 in April earlier this year, with Stanley winning the reverse fixture 2-1 in September 2018.
