Matty raising money for Bloodwise

16 April 2019

Matt Donnelly, Accrington Stanley's sports therapist, is lacing up his trainers to help raise money for a blood cancer charity in memory of his father.

The 25-year-old lost his dad, Steve Donnelly, 14 years ago to lymphocytic leukaemia and Matt is running 10k to raise money for Bloodwise (formerly Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research).

Prior to his passing, Steve was a fit and active man who completed several marathons, as well as bike rides from Lands' End to John o' Groats in aid of various charities.

Bloodwise funds vital research and provides support to help improve the lives of blood cancer patients, with blood cancers claiming more lives than breast or prostate cancer each year.

The race takes place on 21 July at Aintree race course.

Any donations are very gratefully received, and those wishing to make a donation can do so via Matt's JustGiving page here.
